What you´ll do

  • Work locations include:
    - 2227 Douglas Rd, Burnaby, BC V5G 4X3
    - 8600 Glenlyon Pkwy, Burnaby, BC V5J 0B6
    - 3831 No 6 Rd, Richmond, BC V6V 1P6
  • Travel: Various client sites within specified territory in Lower Mainland, BC. Approximately 35% overnight travel required.
  • Job Responsibilities:
    • Grow and profitability maintain Henkel’s (Loctite) General Industrial Adhesive Technologies business in Greater Vancouver Area, and Coastal BC
    • Prospect and secure new business opportunities with new accounts and with existing OEM/MRO customers
    • Grow customer base within assigned territory
    • Sell OEM/MRO products, determine customer needs at existing and new accounts. Develop new value-added opportunities to grow our sales and market presence.
    • Establish Territory Business Plan to create tactics, which will ensure growth of key/ target markets/customers in territory.
    • Implement Time and Territory Management techniques such as monthly report, distributor partnership plans etc. to establish and achieve dollar-producing objectives on a monthly/quarterly cycle.
    • Learn and implement sales skills training as outlined in Henkel Training. Implement marketing programs and provides marketing department necessary feedback to meet market needs.
    • Motivate, educate and close new business in group situations such as OEM/MRO seminars, Customer Training Schools, etc. with end customers
    • Train, work with and motivate our distribution channel partners to sell Henkel products/solutions
    • Assume responsibility for other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager
    • Operate within approved expense plan and business model

What makes you a good fit

  • Minimum Education: Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent Masters with relevant work experience in a lab setting
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a chemical development lab setting;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Adhesives Markets with knowledge of Anaerobic, Cyanoacrylate, Polyurethane, SMP, Silicone, Epoxy, Acrylate and Acrylic technologies.
  • Experience in the Medical Devices market with focus on Bondline design, selection and medical approvals
  • Experience with industry certifications such as: NSF, ABS, Mil-Spec, ISO 10993, ASTM, ANSI, UL/ULC, CSA, etc
  • Experience servicing heavy industrial customers (Forestry, Equipment, Mining)
  • Experience servicing value-add manufacturing customers;
  • Proven track record of cold calling customers to develop and grow new business
  • Experience managing complex distribution relationships with a track record of growing distribution footprint and engagement
  • Proven track record of complex problem solving at customer sites, including root cause analysis and
  • implementation of value-add solutions
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of the value-add selling approach
  • Familiarity with adhesives dispensing equipment and UV light cure equipment
  • Familiarity with mechanical principles related to threaded fasteners, bearings, gaskets and threaded pipe connections
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
